Yaroslav is 12 years old. He was born prematurely at the seventh month of pregnancy, very tiny, weighing a little over a kilogram. From the first minutes of his life, he was on a ventilator, fighting for every breath. Unfortunately, from the very first days, serious health problems began, including meningitis. And then a diagnosis was made that turned the family's life upside down - cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis.

The boy's parents did not give up. From the time he was a baby, Yaroslav underwent intensive rehabilitation wherever they could find help (both in Ukraine and abroad).

“We were looking for every chance, every opportunity to give our son more movement, more freedom, more life. My son underwent five stem cell transplants (two abroad and three in Ukraine). Then - selective dorsal rhizotomy in Kyiv, one of the first in the country. This operation gave a powerful impetus, but in order for it to give a real result, systemic rehabilitation is needed, monthly, weekly, non-stop,” says the mother.

Due to the war, instability, and loss of income, it is very difficult for the family to pay for the classes on their own.

His become more aware of his body and can control it. The spasticity has gone away and the child's back and pelvis have straightened. Speech has improved due to the work of a speech therapist and oral massage, and tongue spasticity has decreased, allowing the child to chew and speak better. The boy walks with support, tries to stand with a support, and strives to be independent. He is very smart, interested in cars, construction sets, loves listening to music and dreams of one day walking with his mom and dad on his own.
