They gave David the gift of hearing!

David is 8 years old. He has been fighting for his health since birth. Intensive care, ventilators, operations, complex diagnoses and ongoing treatment have become part of his life.

David has complex congenital malformations and a whole range of diagnoses: choanal atresia (operated on), laryngomalacia (operated on), coloboma, lymphangioma in the retrobulbar space, severe myopia, developmental delay and flat-valgus foot deformity.
One of the most important milestones in his life was the cochlear implantation in his left ear, which enables the boy to hear.
Today, David does not speak; he only partially understands spoken language and occasionally responds to his name. Therefore, every opportunity to hear, to perceive the voices of his loved ones and the sounds around him, is of immense importance to him. But this had become impossible because his device needed a replacement battery, which is quite expensive.

The ‘Bonum Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation donated the necessary battery for David’s cochlear implant.
For David, this battery means the chance to hear his mum’s voice, the sounds of the world around him, and to take another step towards a fuller life.
