The wheelchair that opens up the world to Angelinka!

Angelinka was born following her mother’s first pregnancy, which had gone well. However, at 41 weeks, during a difficult labour, the baby girl suffered severe asphyxia. The first few months of her life were a struggle for survival. Angelinka spent two months on a ventilator, after which she underwent a tracheostomy. After being discharged home to her family, the baby stayed there for just two weeks before being readmitted to the intensive care unit, where she spent a further six months. Unfortunately, a significant part of her brain was damaged as a result of the severe hypoxia she suffered.

Angelinka has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a severe form, and spastic tetraparesis. She cannot swallow, sit up or hold her head up unaided and requires constant care. In 2025, Angelinka had a gastrostomy fitted. She is fed a special formula and undergoes rehabilitation every 2–3 months. But she needs to get to her sessions – and simply to get outside.

That is why the ‘Bonum Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation helped Angelinka by purchasing a specialised wheelchair.

Now, going for a walk, travelling to rehabilitation sessions, or simply being able to spend time in the fresh air has become more accessible and comfortable for Angelinka.

We cannot change what this little girl has had to go through. But together, we can make her present a little easier.

Thank you to everyone who donates, supports us and spreads the word about our work. It is thanks to you that we can help children get the things without which their daily lives would be much more difficult.
