The greatest victories begin with a single small step!

Romi is only 3 years old, but in that time he has come a long way – a journey that not every adult could manage. The little boy was born prematurely at 34 weeks and has been fighting for his health since the very first days of his life. He has been through complex operations, months in hospital, intensive care and a constant struggle. Roma’s diagnosis: spastic right-sided hemiparesis, hydrocephalus, structural epilepsy and delayed psychomotor development.

Thanks to the help of the Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation, Roma underwent a course of rehabilitation which has yielded excellent results.
He has become more confident on his feet, has better balance, and has learnt to step over obstacles and climb stairs. What’s more, he has picked up new words, which he actively repeats every day.
For some, these are everyday things. For this family, their son’s progress is a true miracle, earned through tears, faith and immense love.

When a child takes a step, it is not just a step forward. It is proof that people’s support, the work of specialists, parents’ faith and compassion can change lives.
