The Foundation’s care goes far beyond a single act of assistance!

Bonum remembers every person it has helped, understands their needs, and is often ready to support the family again when the situation calls for it.

This story is a perfect example of that. Yegor has a number of diagnoses: compensated hydrocephalus resulting from a previous episode of ventriculitis, a shunt, multiple brain cysts, delayed psycholinguistic development, spastic tetraparesis, structural epilepsy and optic nerve atrophy.

The ‘Bonum Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation had already helped Yegor with a standing frame, and this time they supported him by purchasing the necessary orthoses!

When his mum noticed that her son’s foot was beginning to become deformed, she consulted an orthopaedic specialist. The doctor emphasised the need for special orthoses for constant use – day and night – to help maintain the correct position of the foot and prevent further changes.

For some, these are simply medical devices. For Yegor’s mum, they represent vital support, the chance to look after her son’s health, and the reassurance that they are not alone in their worries and difficulties.
