Today we’re sharing the news that Ilya’s family and our community have been eagerly awaiting – the complex operation was a success!
Ilya is 13 years old. He was born a healthy boy, but over time he developed childhood autism and epilepsy, and since the age of 8 he has also been bravely battling a severe form of scoliosis. Despite physiotherapy, massages, swimming and wearing a Schiener corset, the condition progressed rapidly. Later, doctors also discovered a tumour (benign, not removed) in the area of the Th2–Th3 intervertebral foramen.
During the operation, Ilya had a titanium implant fitted along his entire spine. This is a chance for the boy to live without constant pain and enjoy a better quality of life.
The treatment was made possible thanks to the support of kind-hearted people and the assistance of the Bonum Foundation, which promptly covered the cost of the implants required for the operation.
We would like to thank everyone who supported Ilya during this difficult time. Recovery and rehabilitation still lie ahead, but the most important stage is now behind us, and with Ilya’s determination and desire to overcome his illness quickly, everything is sure to work out!
The donation amount is non-refundable, and the funds are distributed among the foundation's projects
