The charity has helped out again: Oleg has had a brain scan!

Oleg has had health issues since he was a baby and requires ongoing treatment and rehabilitation. The boy has a number of diagnoses: organic mental disorder, focal epilepsy, bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and delayed speech development.

Bonum had previously helped Oleg by providing him with a modern hearing aid, which the child needs to communicate and learn effectively.

However, in 2025, Oleg was diagnosed with focal epilepsy. The seizures recur, and his treatment required constant adjustment.

To address this issue, the Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation agreed to support Oleg once again and covered the cost of the necessary brain examinations — a 12-hour video EEG monitoring session and a duplex scan of the blood vessels in the head and neck.

These examinations have already significantly helped doctors to assess the child’s condition more accurately and adjust his treatment to better control his epileptic seizures.

Our beneficiary lives in the frontline zone with his mum. Their home was damaged by an explosion. But this has not broken the child’s spirit; Oleg is very inquisitive, loves building sets, is fascinated by how the world works, and dreams of becoming a commentator and travelling the world.

We want to ensure that his illness does not stand in the way of his dreams.
