Romchik has learnt to sit up on his own!

The Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation funded a course of rehabilitation sessions for Romchik, which have already yielded such important and heart-warming results.

Because of his diagnosis, ongoing rehabilitation enables Romchik to acquire new skills and move closer to a more independent life.
After completing the rehabilitation course, Roman has started to understand spoken language better, maintain his balance, sit independently on the floor for up to 5 minutes, and, whilst lying on his tummy, can prop himself up on his elbows – as his right side is more affected – he can now open the palm of his right hand and stand up on his own using his arms. He can stand with a support with a little help, has learnt to crawl, though for now only by pulling himself along with his hands without using his legs. He has learnt to say new words for animals and can now say ‘bye’. Learning new skills isn’t easy, but Roman is delighted when he succeeds, and this inspires him to move forward towards new possibilities. His mum sends her thanks: “We are very grateful to Bonum and everyone involved in the fundraising for making my son’s rehabilitation possible.”
