Home after the operation, and on towards his dream!

Last year, thanks to the ‘Bonum Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation, Yegor underwent a complex surgical procedure involving extensional osteotomy of both thighs and fixation with plates. The operation helped to straighten his legs and correct the bending in his knees.

The following year was a challenging one for little Yegor. He had to relearn the skills he’d acquired, overcome pain and fear, work hard with a physiotherapist and strengthen his muscles.

The plates that Yegor received with Bonum’s help have now done their vital job of helping his bones to heal properly. And now it is time to remove them. The ‘Bonum Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation helped Yegor undergo this operation too. Today, the boy is back home and recovering from the procedure.

There is still a lot of work ahead, along with rehabilitation and both small and big victories. But the child’s greatest dream is to walk unaided, and that is one of our hopes too!
