Giving a voice to silence: Katalya’s story!

Katalya was born a healthy little girl who developed normally for her age: first words, gestures, genuine reactions to her loved ones. But after a year and a half, her world changed dramatically; she became withdrawn, stopped responding to her name and lost her communication skills. Eventually, doctors diagnosed her with autism.
Since then, it has been a daily struggle and a lot of hard work. Today, Katalya is almost 8 years old: she can say a few words and is partially self-sufficient, but her development has, unfortunately, stalled, and this is the biggest challenge for the family.

Thanks to the support of the Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation, stem cell treatment has become possible for Katalya. This is a modern method aimed at supporting and restoring neural connections, improving memory, concentration and learning ability. It is innovative approaches that today give children who seem to have ‘stalled’ a chance to take a step forward and open up new opportunities for development!

For Katalya, this is a chance to move forward, learn, understand the world better and interact with it.
