Genetic testing for Lisa! She attends school in an inclusive class. Due to speech impairment, communicating with her peers is not easy for her, but Lisa is always open and friendly.At the age of four, doctors diagnosed her with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss of grade 1 on the left and deafness of grade 4 on the right. The girl has been using hearing aids since childhood and has undergone numerous examinations.
Recently, Lisa's family faced a new challenge: the girl was diagnosed with a rare disease — Usher syndrome, which affects not only her hearing but also her vision. In order for doctors to determine a further treatment plan, genetic testing is necessary.
Thanks to the support of caring people and the help of Bonum Ukraine, we were able to raise funds for the necessary laboratory tests. This is a very important step in determining possible treatments and giving Liza a chance to preserve her vision and have a better quality of life.
