Dima was born into a military family. Before the full-scale invasion began, the family lived in Mariupol, so the boy immediately found himself in the epicenter of the war. It was only in April that Dima, his mother, grandmother, and older brother were able to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine. His mother noticed that the child was a little different from others, mainly because he was silent, but she thought that the time would come when he would start talking. After a series of tests, when the boy was three years old, he was diagnosed with autism. Until the age of 4, Dima was completely silent, but then, thanks to constant training and rehabilitation, the child began to speak a little.
Dmitry's father, a defender of the city of Mariupol, has been in captivity for four years. The child's dream is to see and hug his father and tell him how much he loves him.
Dmytro's mother is doing her best to provide her son with the regular classes he needs so much. Unfortunately, the family's resources are limited
She found out about the Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation on the Internet and filled out an application form.
The foundation supported the family and paid for Dmitry's necessary rehabilitation course. We are rooting for the child and are also eagerly awaiting the meeting between father and son.
We are delighted that during his rehabilitation, Dima has acquired new skills, begun to engage in dialogue, and developed a better understanding of spoken language.
"We sincerely thank the Bonum Ukraine Foundation for its invaluable assistance in our child's rehabilitation.
Your support has enabled us to go through an important stage in Dmytro's development and receive the necessary classes, consultations, and professional help from specialists.
I am truly grateful for your kindness, openness, and understanding.
May your noble work bring warmth, light, and happiness to the lives of many families, just as it has brought it to ours!" says the boy's mother.
It is quite easy to give happiness, joy, and share warmth, and it is surprisingly pleasant to receive kindness in return.
The donation amount is non-refundable, and the funds are distributed among the foundation's projects
