First steps for Olesia: the foundation provided special walkers and therapeutic nutrition!

The Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation provided important support to 4.5-year-old Olesia, a small but extremely strong girl who overcomes difficult challenges every day.

Although the pregnancy and delivery went well, Olesia was diagnosed with a number of complex disorders after birth. The girl was born with deformities in both feet and underwent surgery, during which doctors were able to correct their position. It was later discovered that the child also had thyroid dysfunction and a rare amino acid metabolism disorder called hyperammonemia.
Because of this, Olesia has to stick to a strict diet — she's only allowed 12 grams of protein a day, and her diet is based on special therapeutic food that gives her body the nutrients it needs in a safe way. The girl also undergoes regular examinations and numerous tests so that doctors can monitor her condition and adjust her treatment.
Due to muscle hypotonia, Olesia is not yet able to walk independently, but she is eager to take her first steps. During rehabilitation, it became clear that a special walking trainer could significantly help her in this.

The Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation paid for special walkers with chest and pelvic support for Olesia, which will help the girl practise her walking skills and gradually become more independent. The Foundation also provided the child with a six-month supply of special therapeutic food.

This assistance is extremely important for the family, as it allows them to maintain the child's health and continue her rehabilitation at the same time.
Olesya still has a lot of work, treatment and examinations ahead of her. But she remains a smiling, sincere and very strong girl who teaches everyone around her not to give up every day.
