Bonum has purchased an ammonia monitor for Olesia!

Another vital piece of equipment for Olesia from the Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation: we have purchased a special blood analyser that will literally help save the child’s life during dangerous episodes!

Olesya has a severe protein breakdown disorder, which causes her blood ammonia levels to constantly rise. This is very dangerous for the child’s brain and development. Despite a strict diet, special nutrition and treatment, her ammonia levels often remain high.
Previously, the family had to rely solely on symptoms: the smell of ammonia, severe lethargy, drowsiness… And the test itself was expensive, complicated and required urgent transport of blood to the laboratory.
Now, thanks to the newly acquired analyser, results can be obtained in just 3 minutes. This means identifying the danger sooner, administering the necessary medication faster, and not wasting precious time.
