Bogdan’s operation is over – now it’s time to recover!

Bogdan from Poltava is a cheerful, lively and very sociable boy. He’s even a bit of a rascal. He has lots of friends who love spending time with him so much that sometimes they even take turns – some go for a walk with Bogdan outside today, whilst others come round to visit.

The boy has been

practising aikido for five years. He’s been coming second in competitions so far, but he doesn’t get upset. He says, ‘I just need to practise a bit more’!

But recently, Bogdan has had to train not only his strength and stamina in the gym, but also in hospital.

The boy’s thyroid gland had been enlarged since he was two years old. Doctors monitored his condition and carried out regular check-ups. But over time, the condition became malignant, so Bohdan needed an operation to remove his thyroid gland.

The ‘Bonum Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation covered the cost of Bogdan’s essential surgical treatment! The operation was a success, and he is now recovering peacefully and undergoing further treatment under medical supervision.

We very much hope that what lies ahead for our beneficiary will not be hospitals and medical examinations, but training sessions, competitions, friends, walks and a normal, happy childhood. Bohdan is being brought up by his mum; he lost his dad when he was just six months old, which is why his mum turned to Bonum for help!
